India’s first music college of international standards announced in Mumbai on occasion of Lata Mangeshkar’s birthday
On account of the 91st birthday of Bharat Ratna winner and evergreen playback singer of India, Lata Mangeshkar, Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant has announced that the state government will set up a Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Government Music College in Mumbai.
Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar was the father of well-known singers Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Meena Khadikar and Usha Mangeshkar as well as composer Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
This is planned to be India’s first music college of international standard and will produce the next generation of singers and songwriters.
