PORTRAITS OF GIVING: Integrity is all we have: Lenard Lind

Lenard Lind is the broker of record and owner of The Lind Realty Team Inc., Centum Lind Financial Services Inc., and L.H. Lind Holdings Inc. His companies’ philosophy is service with professionalism. He believes that our integrity is all we have, and he strives to demonstrate it daily. This is exemplified in his philanthropic efforts as well.

In business, Lind maintains the quality standard ISO 9001:2015, an internationally known symbol of excellence. Currently, he is the only realtor in Canada with this designation. Part of this standard is a commitment to give back to the community on an annual basis, which he has done for over 30 years.

Committed to and engaged in his community, Lind dedicates both time and financial resources to numerous causes. His professional credentials are lengthy, from Registered Mortgage Broker, FSCO, and Registered Home Builder, BILD and TARION, to Market Value Appraiser, previous instructor for the Ontario Real Estate Association, and more. His list of charitable works is even longer.

Just some of the organizations and events Lind has supported include the Yellow Brick House, Southlake Regional Health Centre — Cancer Centre, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Doane House Hospice, Inn From the Cold, Big Sisters Big Brothers of York Region, and the annual Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament.

In addition to backing local youth sports teams, he has sponsored high school scholarship awards for Aurora High, Dr. G.W. Williams Secondary, and King City Secondary School.

Reflecting on the unexpected rewards of giving back, Lind is touched by the letters and cards of thanks, gifts and plaques from teams and individuals, and has even been requested to speak at local high schools about his business. As prominently displayed on the background wall of his office building, he is a proud sponsor of his community and appreciates all that it does to support its residents, businesses, and himself.

A very memorable moment in recognition of his work and giving back, was when he was nominated for the second time by the Aurora Chamber of Commerce for his community support.

When asked about how to inspire others to get involved and find new ways to give back, he acknowledges Portraits of Giving and similar projects who are great at getting the message out. He also encourages our local towns and service organizations to regularly connect and convey to the public their need for support. Communication and education go a long way in helping people understand local concerns and where they may be able to help.
