NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WOIO) – Students and teachers in North Olmsted schools will start to head back to classrooms next week as the district starts hybrid learning.

Hybrid learning for special education students will begin Oct. 5.

The district will begin phasing in all other students based on their grade and last name Oct. 12.

All classes had been taking place online since the start of the school year in August.

In a letter to North Olmsted families, Superintendent Michael E. Zalar said the decision was based on Cuyahoga County’s status as a level two orange county on the Ohio Public Health Advisory System and the low number of coronavirus cases in the community.

The school district’s Restart Plan calls for hybrid learning when the county is at risk level 2.
