Date 31/12/2004 | Topic: Ghosts-UK News

After another amazing year, we wave farewell to 2004 and welcome in 2005. The Ghosts-UK Team would just like to thank every member for all their dedication over the last year (not to mention all those many years since we were founded in 1987).

Important Changes

There are a few important changes to Ghosts-UK which we feel will benefit many members.
+ Forum Editing Time - After implementing our editing time feature to restrict abuse in the forums, we received feedback that 5 minutes was too short, we lengthened this to 30 minutes, but still this seemed a little short for the majority of our members, therefore after taking this constructive criticism on board, we've now extended the editing time allowed to 20 hours.

+ Help Desk/FAQ - We've now implemented a new and improved 'Help Desk/FAQ' with more in depth explanations, images to visually show how to use area's of G-UK. Work on this section is still not complete, there are many more FAQ's required, which will be added over time.

+ G-UK Positions - Within our 'Contact Us' section is an application form for anyone wishing to work with us.

+ G-UK Info Section - This section replaces our old CTP section, with more information, including a list of our equipment (not all included).

Review Of Investigation Age Limits

After careful review of our policy on the age of participants attending G-UK investigations, we have now lowered our age restriction to 16.

16 - 17 years of age - Requires proof of age, and must also be accompanied by an adult able to give parental consent, and take charge for your personal welfare and safety.

17 + - We may request some kind of ID, therefore request you carry some whilst attending your first G-UK investigation, prior arrangements can be made via FAX, after your first investigation this will no longer be necessary.

Positions within G-UK:

HP Manager - Manage a small team inputting data into the Haunted Pages.

HP Data Loggers - Small team inputting location data into the HP.

G-UK Reviews & News Manager - Manage a small team of reviewers.

G-UK Reviews & News Team - Small team writing reviews and news articles, this will also require involvement of the research team in product analysis and writing reviews.

G-UK Report/Documenter - Responsible for taking notes and writing reports, although most of the notes should still remain the responsibility of the team leader, to ensure all the correct details are logged.

Paranormal TV Listings - To research and post paranormal TV programs to a new section once ready.

Glossary logger - Input and renew all our old glossary items into the new section.

News Reporter - Write up news articles, interviews and any other important news in regards to the paranormal.

Project & Research Manager - Responsible for generating theories and projects for the research team to conduct, this includes theories on Infrasound, Ouija, Table Tipping, etc, etc, it would then be the responsibility of the research team to run research.

We would like to make it clear that anyone working for us is based on a 3 month trial leading to a review every 6 months initially.

On behalf of the Ghosts-UK Team, we hope you had a good Christmas and wish you all a happy New Year, Hope to see you all in 2005.
