Introduction
For those of you who are not familiar with Spectral Electronics, Spectral Electronics is a business that was started at the beginning of this year with the main aim of developing an idea for the detection of negative ion fields. This resulted in the development of the Negative Ion Detector (N.I.D.) which has now been in production almost 6 months. Since then, as the N.I.D has been taken up and used and the reputation of Spectral Electronics grew throughout the paranormal community, Spectral Electronics was asked to produce a special EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) meter which has unique features for Ghost Hunters. This meter has been in production 2 months and is known as the “2G EMF”, 2G being second generation.

Overview of N.I.D
One physical quantity, which is the subject of growing interest in paranormal investigative circles, is presence of negatively charged ion fields. Negatively charged ion fields can be created by natural sources, for example lightning strikes, and by artificial sources such as air ionisers. The effects of a negative charged ion field can create a feeling of freshness and some would describe, “cooling”. The presence of spirit manifestations, for example orbs (light anomalies), may indeed produce high electrostatic properties and negatively charged ion fields.
The Negative Ion Detector as produced by Spectral Electronics is designed for detecting the presence of negative ion fields.
Overview of 2G EMF.
The EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) meter is also commonly known as the Gauss meter or Magnetometer. It is used to determine the strength of a magnetic field (magnetic flux density) and typically displays the result in units of Gauss or Tesla. The Spectral Electronics “2G EMF” meter is calibrated to display results between 0 and 50 milligauss (mG) at 1 KHz. It will also register magnetic field strengths in the wide range of range 250 Hz to 40,000 Hz @ 50mG (see specification). The Spectral Electronics “2G EMF” meter has been specifically designed for use by Paranormal Investigators and includes the following features:
· High attenuation of mains (50Hz) EMF fields.
· Backlit display for use in total darkness.
· Calibrated as standard.
· No resets.
· Audio output for monitoring and EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) investigation.
What Next?

By connecting the audio jack on the 2G EMF to a PC / laptop, one is able to perform some superb analysis or real-time monitoring during an investigation.
