If you fancy helping us test the new Ghosts-UK design before we set it live and give us your feed back including any issues and bugs, then we'd love to heard from you.
Just drop a message in this thread and I'll contact you with a list of testing requirements, i.e what to look for, what won't be visible in the new design for Ghosts-UK, etc, etc. |

Thanks Bryan, guess its just you and me then.
I'll enable you a new block it will appear on the front page of the website to the left hand side. Should be titled "Site Design" in there you will see an option for "Ghosts-UK2010" click it to enable the new design and to reset it either click "Ghosts-UK12" or log out and back in. I've done extensive testing on my Mac and on Helens, it all appears OK in Opera, Firefox, Google Chrome. Check list:- - Look for overlapping text, blocks or other content. - Is the text easy to read, colours font, etc. - Do all sections appear to display correctly. Any other feedback you feel relevant to the new design. Snapshots:- If you can take snapshots of the issue to highlight the problem for me along with details of your resolution, basic computer spec including which browser you see the problem in. Testing:- If possible test with multiple browsers, they are all free to use: Google Chrome - http://www.google.co.uk/chrome/ Opera - http://www.opera.com/ Mozilla Firefox - http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ Safari - http://www.apple.com/safari/ Internet Exploder 7 or 8 - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/Internet-explorer/default.aspx The site isn't designed to work in Microslow Internet Explorer 6 or below, however that said I have made some adjustments to make it easier for the browser to display Ghosts-UK, so most things should work. A message will appear to IE 6 and below users stating this. These browsers work on Windows, Mac and most variants of Linux (I should imagine all, but I've not worked with all Linux variants so I could be wrong) with exception of Internet Explorer unless run through some kind of emulator. Things to note: The new design incorporates Google banners so it may appear that two banners are located next to each other (the center top), when the site goes live the duplicate (in brackets) will be removed. The new pull down won't show much content as such blocks as the such blocks like "Who's online" and the user menu will be relocated to there once its set live. The three slider options on the right function correctly however one is titled "whats new" blocks from the whats new section will be located in this drop down thus replacing the whats new section. I suppose this could be considere similar to the Facebook feed where it shows all the latest content. |

Thanks Steve, if you get a chance I wouldn't mind some feedback on other browsers as well, although that said if it works fine on a mobile browser then it should in theory be good on standard browsers. I think but don't quote me because I'm most likely wrong,

Excellent, you now have access and should be able to see the design block.

ok - had a look the other day and all seemed fine.
today on the page http://ghosts-uk.net/modules/news/index.php as i logged-in i noticed that when you run your mouse cursor over the topic titles [under Recent Topics] only some highlight green to enable a link click. they work fine for the first 5 in the list but after that the 6th one works [green highlight to indicate that the link is click-able] for a split second whilst the rest don't highlight/or work at all! i'm using IE: Version 8.0.6001.18702IS Build 86001 |

Hi Kurt, thanks for the screen.
I installed Microslow Winbloze 7 along with Internet Exploder 8, my version and build was: Version 8.0.7600.16385 It all appeared to render as expected, the links worked also. Perhaps its a browser issue with cache / temporary internet files. Could you please try again and let me know. If it does happen then perhaps try and clear your old cache files. I'm sure you know how but if not then its: Tools --> Internet Options In there is an option to delete temporary internet files and cookies, you'll see this under the "Browsing History" section.
